15 rahsia pelayan restoren

 terbaca kat yahoo, sebagai seorang bekas pelayan...memang aku tersenyum... ada benarnya dan secara peribadi, ada pernyataan tang tertentu tu akan dilakukan pada masa-masa "tertentu" sebagai "pembalasan dendam" secara halus tanpa "menggadaikan" karier....

Entry kali ni aku edit sikit sebanyak...takut korang boring pulak nak baca...hahahha

What you should know on Valentine's Day
1. Make reservations early. Restaurants usually don't have an abundance of tables for two. We need to time to plan where to put everyone. You'll get a better table and we'll be prepared.

-reservation amat penting...lagi-lagi peak time, yang mana pelanggan mesti berebut-rebut...so kalau takde reservation, jangan la marah-marah... kalau dah penuh tu...paham-paham je lah ye... 

2. Don't propose. It's so cliché. But if you do, warn us first. We'll put you in the corner. Nothing's worse than a crying woman in the center of the restaurant. Trust me.

-aku tak pernah jumpa lagi orang dok buat proposal time valentine's day ni... tapi saranan kat atas tu cukup baik... orang lain datang nak makan bukan nak tengok drama korang tu... tapi kalau bg tau awal-awal, satu restaurant akan tepuk tangan kat korang... mesti lagi sweet kan... hahahah 

3. Since Valentine's Day is on a Monday this year, go out on Friday or Saturday. Most restaurants will also serve their special Valentine's Day menu on those days. Or go out for brunch! Then you can sleep the rest of the day.

-ni kalau korang taknak menghadapi situasi "kekecewaan" melampau yang akan menyebabkan sindrom "hilang akal sementara"...

-aku suka...aku suka... dan paling aku suka buat (pengakuan ikhlas nie) come on la... selera masing-masing tak sama, kalau dulu aku tak suka kambing, then customer asyik tanya sedap tak dish kambing tu... aku pun cakaplah... "dish tu lah paling popular kat sini" hahahah padahal dish tu paling mahal pon ye...hambek ko...


5. If someone orders a frozen drink that’s annoying to make, I’ll say, “Oh, we’re out. Sorry!” when really I just don’t want to make it. But if you order water instead of another drink, suddenly we do have what you originally wanted because I don’t want to lose your drink on the bill.

-aku senyum lagi...dalam hati gelak gila-gila dah ni... alasan paling sesuai kalau korang datang dah dekat-dekat closing... maka jangan lah korang mintak yang bukan-bukan, baik minuman atau makanan. straight to the point aku cakap... baik tanya kat waiter tu "apa yang ada"... kalau nak, order... kan senang...

6. When I was at one bakery restaurant, they used to make this really yummy peach cobbler in a big tray. A lot of times, servers don’t have time to eat. So we all kept a fork in our aprons, and as we cruised through the kitchen, we’d stick our fork in the cobbler and take a bite. We’d use the same fork each time.

-silap-silap garfu/sudu tu pun dah ada dalam poket apron dari semalam...tukar apron baru tapi guna sudu/garfu yang sama...hihihihi

heheh...dah lama belajar dah, paling baik pun, sup masuk microwave sekadar mangkuk dia panas, pastu sudu tu yg bagi betul-betul panas...

8. We put sugar in our kids' meals so kids will like them more. Seriously. We even put extra sugar in the dough for the kids' pizzas.

-hehe...10 minit tu kira bertuah la... lagi-lagi kalau mintak plain water...silap-silap langsung tak dapat kalau buat camtu... snap? whistle? panggil hello2? hey...come on... tak pernah blajar tatasusila ke? korang agak biadap tak orang camtu?

10. The single greatest way to get your waiter to hate you? Ask for hot tea. For some reason, an industry that’s managed to streamline everything else hasn’t been able to streamline that. -yang ni ok lagi....mintak teh....paling annoying bila asyik-asyik mintak plain water, balik-balik plain water...biarpun harga 50 sen segelas (kira bayar gak tu walaupun air cuma air paip bertapis...kadang-kadang air paip "tulen" mwahahaha) pastu duduk berejam.....kurang revenue tau!

-kalau kat malaysia, takde tips...tapi kalau korang baik...korang tak banyak songeh... bukan kali tu, lain kali service mesti tip top...request mengarut pun silap-silap akan dilayan... lagi2 kalau korang menyenangkan tugas-tugas kitorang ni... tapi kalau disertakan dengan tips besar terus ke poket (bukan tinggal dalam folder atau tray) 5 star service for sure lah....seikhlas mungkin...hehehe

12. If you’re having a disagreement over dinner and all of a sudden other servers come by to refill your water or clear your plates, or you notice a server slowly refilling the salt and pepper shakers at the table next to yours, assume that we’re listening.

-yang ni aku tatau nak buat apa... lantak korang lah...heheh tapi kalau dok argue (especially couple) korang bayar cepat-cepat...bawak korang nye arguement tu kat luar restoren okeh!


How to be a good customer
13. Use your waiter’s name. When I say, “Hi, my name is JR, and I’ll be taking care of you,” it’s great when you say, “Hi, JR. How are you doing tonight?” Then, the next time you go in, ask for that waiter. He may not remember you, but if you requested him, he’s going to give you really special service.

-owhh yeahhh...memang betul pun...jangan lupa tips spesel untuk diorang ni...laaagi diorang takkan lupa.... silap-silap satu restoren kenal kat korang... termasuklah manager pun nak berkenalan dengan korang tau...

14. Trust your waitress. Say something like “Hey, it’s our first time in. We want you to create an experience for us. Here’s our budget.” Your server will go crazy for you.

-ye betul....harap-harap budget tu cukup berbaloi dan kalau boleh nyatakan sekali dengan tips yg bakal diperolehi... surely u'll have a gigantic suprise!

-kat malaysia ni, sistem tips tak meluas sangat... taklah ada tips minima 20% ke, kalau ada pun gov. tax ngan service charge (yang mana terlalu dimanipulasi) ada baiknya bagi tips kat waiter/waitress yang serve tu directly dalam poket baju/apron atau dalam tangan.... lagi-lagi kalau restoren tu korang jadi regular....(untuk yg non-muslin kalau ada order wine/liqour, better bayar dulu beserta tips nya sekali...baru lah korang dapat service terbaik.... walaupun korang minum sampai passed out! 

hihih...sekadar share ngan korang.... mana yang baik ambiklah....
